The amanita mushrooms represent the beauty of this world, but also the risk of consuming that beauty. The tree is representing nature overtaking our brief time on this earth and the stream that the lady dips her her toes in, represents a voyage we all should take while living in this world.

The fly represents those small problems, the scissors represents the ability to cut the bonds or problems in your life and the box represents your comfort zone where you have contained those issues.

It is about each ones struggle in life and the figures are all of the same person in this painting. One part of you tries to free you from life’s descent while the other part of you embraces that descent. The red cloak and the butterflies that are flying away represent your spirit leaving you as you start your descent.
